Marnie Robinson

Marnie Robinson is a communications strategist, journalist, and leader with more than 25 years of combined experience in the public and nonprofit industries. Specializing in healthcare public relations and marketing, she is the president and CEO of MARS Communications, Inc. and SimplyMarnie.com.

Her areas of expertise include:

  • On-air talent.

  • Developing strategic messaging.

  • Telling compelling stories.

  • Directing and producing corporate videos.

  • Executive speech writing.

  • Public speaking.

  • Public and media relations.

  • Conducting one-on-one interviews. 

 

Formerly the head of Communications and Media Relations at The Loretto Hospital, a nonprofit, safety-net hospital on the west side of Chicago, Marnie was responsible for transforming, managing, and maintaining a positive public perception of the hospital, its leadership, and its services through marketing communications and strategic messaging across all media platforms. With this charge, Marnie transformed communications throughout the organization and increased the visibility of the executive leadership team, its physicians, services, and programs internally and in the community. 

 

Marnie has worked as a television talk show co-host interviewing celebrities on the red carpet. She served as co-host on Today's Christian Artist, which aired on TLN, and interviewed celebrities on the red carpet on Eyes on Chicago, an independently-produced cable show by Dee Jones.

 

In addition to serving as the CEO at MARS, Marnie launched the brand Simply Marnie, a platform that promotes faith, family, "Food is Medicine," and fitness. Marnie leads a very active lifestyle. She enjoys singing at church and spending quality time with family. She also enjoys training and competing in bodybuilding competitions and beauty pageants. 

 

She held the title of Mrs. Illinois International 2019, third runner-up in the Mrs. Illinois America Pageant (2015), and first runner-up in the Miss Chicago Pageant (1989). She was also Miss Southern Cook County in 1988.

 

Marnie maintains a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from Columbia College Chicago and a Masters of Arts in Communications and Training from Governors State University. She is a member of The National Association of Black Journalists – Chicago Chapter (NABJ), the National Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), and the Illinois Society for Healthcare Marketing and Public Relations (ISHMPR).
